So who is Tami S. Hritzay?

Tami, is an artist, art teacher, author, and joy giver. A cancer survivor for over 57 years, she is a miracle instead of a statistic! Encouraged by her Irish/Ukrainian parents, Tami and her 3 sisters were raised to honor God and to be thankful for life.

Losing her leg at age 8 Tami was encouraged by family, friends, and teachers to use her artistic and musical talents. Graduating from Edinboro University Tami earned an art education degree. She journeyed out to the deserts of Arizona to teach art to Navajo children.

 Throughout the years she has continued to teach art at PennState Behrend “College for Kids” program. Her students at Chautauqua Institute are from all over the world. Teaching drawing and painting there she is blessed to have doctors, lawyers, and architects take her classes!

Tami originally went to Edinboro University so she could be a writer and illustrator of children’s books. Dreams have a way of catching up to you if you let them. So Tami published her first The Hole in the Wall book 10 years ago. Book 3 The Hole in the Wall: The Secrets of the Canyon just was published in 2022.

Tami isn’t done writing, teaching, or drawing. “ I want to be a light in this dark world. I want to encourage people wither they are disabled or not to embrace life! God has blessed me, and I will be soever grateful!”
